This tiny magnetic compass can be used to trace magnetic field lines around a bigger magnet. A small magnetic needle is suspended between two glass covers enclosed in a steel casing. Small size ensures tracing magnetic lines closely and small magnetic needle ensures the magnetic fields is not affected by itself. You can also make galvanometer with this compass.
